EMPATHIZE:

We reviewed the curriculum guide and recognized a common student struggle with abstract probability concepts especially in terms of fraction forms. We conducted informal learner observations and observed confusion in probability notation and event classification.

DEFINE:

How can we help students understand and confidently solve problems involving simple and compound probability events in fractional form?

IDEATE:

Brainstormed formats included:

PROTOTYPE:

We developed a prototype lesson integrating:

• Hands-on group activities and individual problem-solving

TEST:

Feedback was gathered via peer review and instructor comments. Key revisions included simplifying terms, adding more visuals for compound events, and reformatting the student worksheet.
